News: New film by Consumers International reveals harsh conditions for pineapple workers

Pineapples: a luxury fruit but at what cost?
That’s the question asked in a new documentary produced by Consumers International, in association with the Guardian newspaper.
With most major supermarkets offering discounts on pineapples, the 20-minute film – which you can watch below – investigates the human and environmental cost at the other end of the supply chain.
It features moving interviews with pineapple farmers in Costa Rica, many of whom work in appalling conditions for terrible wages.
