News: Celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight with the 2011 Thanet Fairtrade Island Guide!
2 March, 2011
To mark the start of Fairtrade Fortnight 2011, Thanet Fairtrade Initiative is pleased to announce the launch of this year’s Thanet Fairtrade Island Guide.
This free, 24-page pocket-sized guide looks back on our achievements over the past 12 months and looks at some of the key Fairtrade topics for 2011, including Fairtrade cotton and Fairtrade gold. There’s an update on our work to bring Fairtrade into local schools and churches, as well as a look at our partnership with the Japan in Fairtrade Towns project. You’ll also find pictures from our World Food Day celebrations and international climate change conference, held last year at Margate’s Winter Gardens, plus a full list of the local businesses and organisations without whom none of our success would be possible.
The Thanet Fairtrade Island Guide will soon be available at shops, churches and libraries across the isle but you can also view and download a copy for free here. Alternatively, you can contact us and request a copy to be sent by post.
