Fairtrade tea party
One of three events which took place as part of Fairtrade Fortnight 2011, our Fairtrade tea party was the perfect way to while away a Sunday afternoon!
More than 100 people enjoyed a delicious cup of Fairtrade tea at Northdown House, set in the picturesque grounds of Northdown Park, Cliftonville, on Sunday, March 6.
Mineo Kageya, director of the Japan in Fairtrade Towns initiative, and 15 Japanese students gave an exciting demonstration of a Japanese tea ceremony, while a Fairtrade cake baking competition – using as many Fairtrade ingredients as possible – proved popular. The cakes were served up at the tea party, with prizes awarded for the best!
